Intego Internet Security is a top-notch security program designed for Mac users to protect against viruses and other online threats in real time or by request. It has the ability to detect and remove almost any virus, as well as fix infected files. The interface is innovative with accelerometers that summarize the activity of the application. Infected files can be isolated in a quarantine zone and trusted folders can be exempt from analysis. Scheduled scans and automatic startup upon connecting a disc drive or updating the virus database can be configured. The software is compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch, and can also identify Windows viruses, handle compromised files, and perform remote analysis through the command line. Users can customize notifications with options such as voice alerts, dialog boxes, or emails. Intego VirusBarrier X5 also scans incoming and outgoing emails for viruses. Additional features include heuristic analysis, integration with the shortcut menu, turbo mode for quicker scans, ability to save and export records, and the ability to run in the background.
